About Us
Welcome to Switch on the Code (SOTC), a programming and development tutorial blog with a focus on rich internet applications and .NET. Started in 2007 by three graduates of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, SOTC now has over 200 tutorials on various programming topics (plus the occasional rant and news post). Besides writing tutorials, the creators of SOTC also run a small software consulting company called Paranoid Ferret Productions (PFP).
If you have any comments or tutorial requests, you can always drop us a line using the contact form.
We hope you enjoy your time here at SOTC, and above all we hope you learn something new - because that's what these tutorials are here for!
Brandon Cannaday

Brandon (otherwise known as The Reddest) is a graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a degree in software engineering. Within PFP, Brandon is the visual design and user experience expert. He spends most of his development time in client-side languages like Silverlight and Javascript. When he's not programming, he's developing user interfaces and prototypes using Photoshop and Flash.
When not working, he enjoys playing with new technologies, 3D modeling, playing disc golf, and hiking.
Charlie Key

Charlie (otherwise known as The Fattest) is a graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a degree in computer engineering. He is also currently working on his MBA at Xavier University. At PFP he is a jack of all trades, but specializes in RIA development with Flex, PHP, and MySQL.
When not working, he likes to play disc golf wherever he can find a course. He also enjoys any outdoor sports he can find to get involved and of course playing video games - cause really, what geek doesn't like to do that?
Michael Kuehl

Mike (otherwise known as The Tallest) is a graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a degree in computer science and mathematics. He is in charge of keeping the PFP servers up and running, and is happiest when on a command line. For RIA projects, you will generally find him working on the server side programming, although he does enjoy forcing browsers to his will with Javascript.
When not working, he enjoys coding for fun (often writing something which will become fodder for one of our blog articles), and reading copious quantities of fiction.

I'm a recent Rose-Hulman grad with a degree in Software Engineering, double major with Computer Science. SE/CS. Yes, phonetically, I did major in sex. Fortunately, I went to a top-notch engineering school where such things aren't actually possible. In other news, I recently co-founded a company- Dusk Productions - and I'm about to release our first product!
Richard Key

I am currently a student at the University of Advancing Technology, taking online course with my degree focusing on Video Game Programming. I enjoy programming, MMORPGs, and general Role Playing (D&D, Rifts, Ironclaw, etc). I work for Meyer Tool, Inc, where I hold the position of Technical Assistant. For my job I program, fix computers, and all that good stuff. Someday I hope to be a programmer for one of the many video game developers out there, preferably Lucas Arts, Blizzard, or Cryptic.
