Any good suggestions on backing up a laptop. I imagine you can go with the ol tape technique, or an online deal. But do you guys have an opinion on what to use, or how to go about doing backups on a laptop?

I have seen a tape backup in a long time, except for large server/computer environments. I personally don't have everything backed up (yeah I know), but what I do backup I backup on my home server (raid 5).

You could check out rdiff. It'll do incremental backups locally or to a remote machine so you can roll-back to any point in time. One of the developers here uses it as just a local backup.
