Blender Tutorial - Basic UV Mapping

(Blender version 2.492)
1. add a mesh (Add/Mesh/Plane or UVSphere)
2. Select the object (right click)
--- NEW 2.492 ---
3. switch Object Mode To Edit Mode
4. switch Vertex Select Mode to Face Select Mode (Ctrl Tab 3) and select the face(s) (A to select all)
5. Select Mesh/UV Unwrap (U) / Reset

6. switch 3DView to UV/Image Editor
7. go to Image / Open in the UV window's menu (open the jpg file)
8. switch UV/Image Editor to 3DView
9. switch Edit Mode to Object Mode
10. In the main window switch to Textured mode to allow you to see your finished pre-rendered object with thetexture applied
11. Before Render: Buttons Window/Panels/Shading (F5)
12. Before Render: Buttons Window/Material Buttons (Tab Material) press TexFac
